My Cat is Simply Out of This World!

You've got a friend in me,
When the road looks rough ahead
And you're miles and miles from your nice warm bed,
You just remember what your old pal said
'Cause you've got a friend in me.

Here is a Kid vs. Kat fanfiction, which was a collab between my good friend brave kid and I(He had the initial idea, and I wrote the story), which is the first in a series he and I will be writing in the future. In this reimagining/retelling of the series, Mr. Kat, now an intergalactic reporter rather than an evil villain, tires of his humdrum life on his home planet. When he's given the opportunity to search for a news story on a new planet, he jumps at the chance, but is unfortunately thrown off course by his foe the evil hamster Eeks and crash lands on Earth. Upon being discovered by the Burtonburger family, he's soon adopted by them...but what might happen when his secret is discovered? Please enjoy!

BW, here's a pic of the now good Mr. Kat in the series. He's Scooby to Coop's Shaggy, Bandit to Coop's Johnny Quest, and Rufus to Coop's Ron Stoppable!

Fan Fiction Showcase: UFO by LizzyThePanda

In this very nifty MLP story, the Mane Six and their little dragon buddy Spike are having a pleasant nighttime picnic when they notice some strange blinking lights in the sky. The ponies panic, believing this to be evidence that aliens are invading Ponyville, but Twilight believes it's only a hoax. But who will turn out to be right? Please enjoy!

Two astronauts were in a space craft circling thousands of miles above the earth. According to plan, one of them would leave the ship and go on a fifteen-minute space walk while the other stayed inside.

After completing her walk, the first astronaut tries to get back inside, but the door's locked. She knocks at the door. No answer. She knocks harder. Still no answer. She pounds with all her might.

"Hmm," Henry muses. "May I ask how big this Martian is?"

"He's fifteen feet tall and weighs ten tons."

"Ten tons?!" a shocked Henry exclaims. "I live in a small, one room apartment with my wife, five kids and a dog. I can't possibly buy a ten ton, fifteen-foot Martian for $50!"

"All right," the salesman replies persuasively. "How about five Martians for $100?"

Henry smiles. "You've got yourself a deal!"

"Greetings, Earthlings," the creature says. "We are the Furries from Planet Furdonia."

"Are you the leader?" one of the astronauts inquires.

"No, I'm just an ordinary furry," the Furry replies. "But I'll be happy to take you to our leader. Please follow me."

The astronauts follow the Furry to a large odd-looking castle-like structure; he leads them through the door, up a spiral staircase, and into a room where a giant furry purple creature wearing a hypodermic needle on his head is sitting on a throne.

"Pardon us," one of the astonauts inquires. "But are you the leader?"

The giant furry creature replies, "Yes, I am the Furry with the syringe on top."

Fan Fiction Showcase:Android Scam by Coyoteloon

This writer, who primarily writes My Life as a Teenage Robot fan fictions, has a very good writing style, just about on par with the show. (Honestly, if there were a "Should Be a Scriptwriter for My Life as a Teenage Robot" award, he'd win it in a heartbeat!) This is his first story, which sets up future storylines; in this very clever fanfic, Jenny meets new student Andrew "Drew" Nabholtz(an OC who'll appear in later stories), and they become fast friends. Eventually, the Cluster attacks, and it's up to Drew and Jenny to save the day! Please enjoy!

There's a Mystery in Town, So Call the Coolest Pup Around

...Oh, Scooby, A Pup Named Scooby Doo!

Woohoo! Yay! 100 posts! Yippee! All Right! Ah...ahem, where was I? Ohhh, yes....

A Pup Named Scooby Doo was a cartoon series made by Hanna-Barbera in 1988. It featured Scooby Doo and the gang as 10-year olds, back when the Scooby Doo Detective Agency was first established. The premise was basically the same as previous Scooby Doo series:the gang was called on to investigate a mystery involving a ghost or monster of some sort, which would always turn out to be a disguised villain. What really set this series apart, however, is that it was much more humorous, with wacky situations, goofy characters, and bizarre monsters being commonplace. Many of such wacky monsters included a clown ghost, a haunted hamburger, a strange alien, the ghost of a(very) strict librarian, a one-eyed sludge monster...

...and then there's Chickenstein.! (...Yeah.)

Various running gags were commonplace in most episodes, such as Daphne calling her ever-patient butler Jenkins to do things for her, and Freddy blaming the aptly-named town bully Red Herring for being the guilty party. (Which he never was!)

Wild takes were also very commonplace; as suggested on this TV Tropes page, you really do get the notion that the artists were running a bet on who could draw the wilder take.

Here, as per example, are Exhibit A....
...and Exhibit B.

Overall, this is a good, funny, and extremely humorous show. The characters are, as always, likeable and well-cast, retaining their personalities faithfully from the original. Personally, this is one of my favorite Scooby Doo incarnations(next to anything with Scrappy Doo in it. *GUILTY*) An excellent show that any Scooby Doo fan is sure to love.

The theme song's mighty good, too!

All four seasons of the show are available on DVD at the links below:

The Game Show:Rhythm Heaven for the Nintendo DS

They got rhythm, they got music. Who could ask for anything more?

Woohoo! 50 posts so far! Yaaaay! Whoopee! Hooray!....Ah, ahem, where was I? Oh yes....
Rhythm Heaven(or Rhythm Tengoku Gold, as it's known in Japan) is a music/rhythm based game made by the creators of the acclaimed Wario Ware series. The game is made up of a series of(rather bizarre, as is par for the course for the makers of Wario Ware) rhythm-based mini-games, such as Glee Club in which you play one of a trio of singers, Fillbots in which you work at a factory fueling up robots, the Space Invaders-esque Shoot-'Em-Up in which you have to blast incoming alien invaders, Love Lizards in which you play Cupid to a lizard couple, Moai Doo-Wop in which you play one of a pair of Moai(a fancy name for Easter Island heads) singing a very 50s-esque doo-wop song, and Fan Club in which you play one of a pop singer's entourage of monkeys.
One can't help but wonder...why monkeys? But, then again, why not monkeys?
New games are unlocked by achieving "OK"(good) or "Superb"(high) scores in games; medals are won when "Superb" scores are achieved. When enough medals are won, various rhythm games and rhythm toys become available(such as the "Slot Monster" pictured below). Once a "Superb" is achieved in a game, there will occasionally be the option to try for a perfect score in said game(this is done by playing through the game without making any mistakes); a prize(either music or something to read) is won once a perfect score is achieved.
For some reason, he reminds me of Meowth from Pokemon...probably because he has a somewhat cat-like look about him.

Also present in the game is a cafe` where you can listen to the music you've won, read the books you've won, practice flicking, or talk to the barista(Although many of the latter's anecdotes are apropos of nothing, he will also occasionally give you tips on how to play the games and tell you when a chance for a perfect score is coming up).

An interesting fact regarding Rhythm Heaven BTW, is that it isn't the first of its kind. The first game in this series was a game entitled Rhythm Tengoku for the Game Boy Advance, which was never released in America. Regrettably, I don't know much about it, other than that it basically had the same premise as this game.

Pros:-A fun, original game concept.

         -Beautiful Wario Ware-grade graphics.

-Fun, catchy music composed by famed producer Tsunku.

         -The game is absolutely HILARIOUS!

Cons:-For those(like myself! :-p) who are rhythmically-challenged, this game can be a bit tricky. On a fortunate note, the barista will occasionally give you the option to skip a game you're having trouble with.
-As such, winning medals, collecting items, and trying to get a perfect score is also tricky.

"Hey! Stop looking at me like that!"

Overall, this is a good, fun, humorous, one-of-a-kind game with plenty of replay value. Despite it having a certain degree of difficulty, it's still very enjoyable and worthwhile. If you like music games and you like funny games and especially if you like funny music games, this is the game for you, I suppose, I SUPPOSE! YEAH!

BTW, I'd also like to share this YouTube video somebody made of Rhythm Heaven with a Pokemon makeover. (Honestly, it would be nice if such a game actually existed-it looks mighty cool!)

The Game Show:Prey the Stars for Nintendo DS

This madcap little game(known as Gabu Gabu Planet in Japan) is similar to the various Katamari series games, with one key difference-instead of rolling up everything in sight, you're devouring everything in sight!

In this game, you play as one of 4 giant alien monsters(although never referred to as such, they look kind of like dogs), each with different eating abilities:Gabu who's well-rounded, Bari who specializes in biting, Pero who specializes in licking, and Chuchu who specializes in sucking.

You select one of them to play as, and battle the other three in various levels, such as a city, a carnival, a shopping mall, undersea, and many more. The object is to try get the highest score by eating more than the other monsters, and battling them when your paths cross.

You'll only be able to eat small items initially, but by eating enough of the power-up items found in each level, you'll gain the ability to eat bigger items. Eating three objects with the same attributes(water, fire, electricity, etc.) will briefly transform you into a giant creature of the same attribute, capable of crushing everything in your wake. Also, making several perfect bites in a row will briefly make you invincible and enable you to double your scores.

Pros:-A humorous, clever, and highly original game concept.

         -The graphics are excellent.

         -Exciting and entertaining arcade-style gameplay.

-You can win various(very nifty!) outfits for your monsters by clearing stages and meeting certain qualifications, adding to the game's fun factor.

Cons:-The game's storyline(in story mode) is very inane and makes no sense. Honestly, IMHO, it seems like a game like this wouldn't really need a storyline. A minor hiccup which fortunately in no way deters from the games enjoyability.

Overall, an enjoyable and exciting game with very high replay value.
